Dear Terra
I’m in a cleaning frenzy and have leftover craft supplies and projects I was always going to get around to but never did! I hate to toss them out but don’t what to do with them. Help!
Signed, Crafty Clutterbug
Dear Crafty Clutterbug,
I feel your pain! Check out Art Salvage on N. Ash. This non-profit “…seek(s) to promote reuse and creativity for students, teachers, artists, crafters and makers of all ages.” They accept donations of all sorts to “keep creative materials accessible and affordable to everyone, while promoting sustainability by keeping supplies out of the waste stream.”
Check their website to see what craft supplies and quirky items they currently accept (as well as items they can’t take). I quickly made an appointment on-line to drop off old wallpaper sample books, house paint sample cans, playing cards, wine corks, jewelry, maps, etc.
The staff was so helpful, and I found their website clear and easy to use. Besides reselling art supplies at reasonable prices, they offer classes, makers’ challenges and grants for art materials to support nonprofits and community groups that directly benefit our local community and promote reuse and environmentally sustainable practices.
So, before you toss those old keys, Great Aunt Lulu’s photos, ribbon, lace, game boards/pieces, dowels, etc., check out Art Salvage! https://www.artsalvagespokane.com/
Regards,
Terra
